I’m a qualified, experienced retired Maths Teacher, specialising in GCSE Maths. I help students who find maths confusing, stressful, or just not clicking at school.
Most of the students I work with aren’t “bad at maths”- they’ve just missed bits along the way or never had things explained in a way that makes sense. My lessons are calm, supportive, and focused on understanding, not rushing.
We work step by step, build confidence, and focus on the stuff that actually comes up in GCSE exams (including how to pick up method marks).
Lessons are online, so there’s no travelling and students can learn in a familiar, comfortable setup.

Jayne has tutored both my children since the Covid lockdowns and has always provided them with tailored tutoring sessions. Both my children lacked confidence in maths but Jayne found ways of engaging them for example Jayne created my son mathematical problems based on his favourite sport cricket. Jayne was always very patient and took time with her explanations and would regularly revisit areas in which they were less confident. Jayne has been a fantastic tutor and I highly recommend JTC Tuition. We first met Jayne in Summer 2019. Our son, Adam, had just finished year 9 with a predicted Maths GCSE grade 2 and had lost confidence in his ability. We began weekly lessons and soon noticed a difference in Adam’s confidence and willingness to give things a go. Jayne always made Adam feel at ease. Adam enjoyed every lesson (especially as it usually included a conversation about Formula 1!) and we felt that he achieved something new each time. If Adam was finding something difficult Jayne would try as many different techniques as necessary until she could see that Adam fully understood the topic. During lockdown Jayne switched to tutoring online and we continued to see lots of improvement. Over time, the skills that Adam learnt during his maths tutoring appeared to transfer to other subjects and Adam gained confidence in these too. Adam received his GSCE results last week and gained a Grade 5! He was proud and very happy with this result. We can’t thank Jayne enough for helping Adam achieve his potential. Adam worked hard for his grade but Jayne’s encouragement, kindness and support has been invaluable. Thank you Jayne!

Absolutely fantastic teacher, Jayne really helped my daughter with her confidence and has helped her improve on areas she struggled with. My daughter has excelled in the last 4 months and we are sad that we won’t get to see what grade she would have achieved. My son started with jayne in September for an hour a week to help him reach his full potential... She has not dissapointed... Jayne is thorough and helped him where he needed it. She developed a great rapport with him which I think is half the battle. He has had better than expected mock results but we have been cheated of his final exams. But I am confident he will get the grades he deserves and that is down to jaynes tuition. Thankyou jayne you've been amazing.
Jayne the tutor..... what can we honestly say . this lady/,teacher is honestly one of the nicest most dedicated educated lady we have met .to put it more basic my daughter was grade 2 in maths and struggled .when we left her my daughters own maths teacher told me she had jumped to.a grade 5 ...6 Mark's of a grade 6!!!!! we would highly recommend her for her ability to help these kids to a very high standard you will not be disappointed. thankyou Jayne for everything you have done . we will miss you x
